Within the framework of the project, development of attractions will be implemented at various locations within the action area. The common element of these interventions is their connection to castles and ruins involving tourism-focused improvements.
The castle in Levice will undergo comprehensive structural renovation in the forthcoming years utilising funds from other than Interreg sources. Within this project as a part of the territorial action plan, a complementary development – renovation works targeted at establishing a new permanent exhibition in one of the castle wings being restored.
In Vyškovce nad Ipľom, an area with an archaeological relevance in a picturesque environment, where excavations are planned before an archeopark representing the world of three significant archaeological eras will be presented on the site of the former hillfort.
The remaining ruins of Csővár will be stabilised following archaeological excavations, and a lookout point will be constructed on the first floor of the former tower. A parking lot equipped with sanitary facilities will provide comfort for visitors. Informational boards about the castle’s history will also be installed at the site.
These historical landmarks will play a crucial role in balancing the predominantly Esztergom- and Visegrád-focused tourist traffic throughout the region and draw attention to less-popular sites and castle ruins. Additionally, we plan to establish a network involving property managers (managers of castle and manor houses) to develop and offer joint program packages and property tours.
