The goal of the project is to increase the quality of localities and tourist destinations of the Košice self-governing region and the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county through the sustainable use of tangible and intangible cultural heritage and the offered cultural and tourist services, which will contribute to the social, educational and economic development of both border areas. The second goal is to improve the conditions for the development of cultural tourism as an important segment of the regional economy. The specific goals of the project are to the support development of education in the field of digital and visual art for students and the creation of an art incubation space that can serve as a hub of inspiration for young digital and visual artists. The second specific goal is to strengthen cross-border cultural relations, promote cultural and intercultural dialogue for empowered relations between communities, and strengthen cross-border cooperation in the field of cultural heritage and tourism.
The project will result in the preservation of the cultural heritage for tourism and cultural purposes in the form of the revitalization of the “Historical Steam Boiler House” in Štós and “Emeric Pressburger’s House” in Miskolc for the next generations. The building will provide the space that will serve as a digital art incubation space, space for exhibitions, digital installations and workshops, and permanent exhibition that contributes to the promotion of Hungarian and Slovak history.
The results of the project will attract tourists, history enthusiasts, students, and the local community by offering a unique opportunity to explore the buildings and the region’s rich heritage. Joint activities digitize the local cultural heritage and strengthen local identity and traditions through innovative and modern approaches. The project highlights the potential of the cross-border co-creation of engaging, educational, and immersive results that foster cultural exchange and mutual understanding.
The activities illustrate how cross-border cooperation can generate meaningful cultural exchange, artistic collaboration, tourism, and community development.
The activities of the project create meaningful permanent results that not only preserve local heritage but also foster a sense of pride, identity, and connection among the local and cross-border communities and visitors alike.
