The Coordination and Communication Project (CCP) supports the successful implementation of the “Region of the Three Rivers” (#connect) tourism Action Plan. It lays the foundations for effective cross-border cooperation by harmonising developments, strengthening collaboration among stakeholders, and helping to build a unified, well-functioning Hungarian–Slovak tourism destination in the Lower Ipoly and Garam region. The project is jointly implemented by the Pontibus EGTC and the Ister-Granum EGTC, ensuring the smooth operation of a partnership involving more than twenty partners and supporting the coordinated progress of cross-border developments.
One of the CCP’s key tasks is to ensure that cooperation among regional stakeholders becomes sustainable in the long term. To this end, it establishes and operates a permanent coordination platform for the region’s TDM organisations, providing regular online and in-person meetings to align tourism product development and marketing activities. Sector-specific working groups (e.g. cultural, active, or gastronomic tourism) are also set up, each convening at least twice a year to discuss future development directions for the region.
The better understanding of the region is supported by internal study visits and knowledge-sharing events, while additional study trips for local decision-makers to exemplary European destinations present transferable best practices. Based on the work of the platform and the sectoral working groups, the CCP develops sector-specific action plans that define future development priorities and interventions. The project also initiates the professional and technical preparation of upcoming public-interest tourism investments.
An important task of the CCP is the continuous coordination of the Action Plan’s implementation, as well as the preparation of all partner and project reports required for each participating partner, along with the ongoing monitoring and management of emerging risks.
