The project includes a total of six developments, each aimed at improving the conditions for cultural tourism in the region. The thematic focus is justified by the region’s rich cultural heritage, which already serves as a key driver of tourism. However, many locations within the region remain largely unknown to tourists. Through this project, we aim to modestly improve this situation.

The project will support the development of three outdoor stages:

• Lábatlan: the waterfront stage (2021) will be improved, and the seating area expanded.
• Esztergom: the outdoor stage, seating area, and the sanitary facilities for artists of the theatre, which has been operating continuously for 36 years but is now in poor condition, will be renovated.
• Nové Zámky: the park around the Fogd Bastion will be revitalized with the construction of an outdoor stage, renovation of the seating area and sanitary facilities, revitalisation ofgreen spaces.
In addition to the above, two culturally significant locations in Slovakia will be made accessible to tourists:
• In Bíňa, which boasts unique attractions on a European scale but is relatively unknown, an interactive exhibition will be opened in the already functioning local museum to present the more than 1,000-year-old rotunda and the 800-year-old Premonstratensian church.
• In Želiezovce (Sacher House), an exhibition and pastry demonstration kitchen will commemorate the famous Austrian Sacher family, renowned for their confectionery and hotel business.
• Furthermore, the attic of the same building will serve as an office for the Dolný Ipeľ DMO, whose first task will be to compile a regional gastronomic publication.

Through the project, we aim to develop the infrastructure for cultural tourism by making lesser-known attractions accessible and offering engaging experiences. The development of outdoor stages will also support program-based tourism in the region. Our goal is to implement a destination-level event calendar and foster collaboration between cultural stakeholders.
