The “Make GMR Great Again” Territorial Action Plan (TAP) consists of three interconnected projects: the coordination and communication project #gemer, the development project #gemer2, and the marketing project #gemer3.
The coordination and communication project #gemer is led by Via Carpatia EGTC, which plays a key role in the overall implementation of the Territorial Action Plan. Its main responsibilities include coordinating the TAP consortium, ensuring coherence between the linked TAP projects, monitoring implementation progress, preparing partnership and project reports, and supporting communication among the partners.
A key part of the coordination project is the implementation of capacity-building activities, including thematic trainings and study tours for project partners, their employees, and cooperating tourism stakeholders from the action plan area. These activities aim to improve the quality, user-friendliness, and long-term sustainability of tourism services and products in the Gemer region. They respond to the need not only to create attractive tourism infrastructure and content, but also to strengthen the skills, attitudes, cooperation capacity, and service culture of the people and organisations involved in tourism.
The training programme will cover practical topics such as organisational development, internal system settings, marketing and promotional activities, financial literacy, legal advice, networking with other service providers, employee motivation, work habits, active involvement, retraining, and further education. These modules will help partners and tourism stakeholders create a more professional, connected, and visitor-oriented regional tourism offer.
In addition, three two-day study tours will be organised to present examples of good practice from the V4 region. The study tours will be linked to the main TAP tourism themes: HISTORY, ACTIVE, and BIKE. They will enable participants to learn from successful tourism destinations and transfer practical experience to the Gemer region.
As a result, the project will contribute to a better coordinated TAP consortium, improved reporting and implementation capacity, stronger cooperation between regional actors, and a more connected tourism offer with real impact on the attractiveness and competitiveness of the Gemer region.
