The main aim of the two-part project is to develop innovative and safe creative and youth centres in Gyöngyös and Kassa, where modern technical tools and community development will help people to navigate in the accelerated digital world. In Gyöngyös, the main venue will be the Archbishop’s Institute House and cellar at 23 Püspöki út, a listed building owned by the Municipality, whose utilisation plan was developed based on ideas from local high school students, university students and young families living in the city. By renewing the built heritage, we are also recalling the traditions of the past, presenting them with the innovative tools of the present. The building will house a digital and creative industries classroom, a community learning room with LED projector, an art creation room, a central meeting space in the “U” shaped courtyard (atrium), a start-up room, a digital studio, a Slovak nationality “club corner”, a community office. In the basement, there will be a youth club with the “Stage of the First Performance”. The renovation of the historic garden will extend the functions of the building: it will be used for events, concerts and international camps. A monitor in the lobby will show the events of the community of Kassa. In Kassa, the main goal of the project is to create a Youth Community Centre that will provide a multifunctional, creative and innovative space. In the renovated basement of the MaJel Rovás Centre building, located in the city of Kassa, in the city conservation area, near several secondary schools and universities, we plan to create a place for students to meet, learn together, use modern technologies, participate in non-formal education programmes and strengthen mental health. The First Performers Stage will feature a variety of performances, from student bands, debates, poets, dance, and video mapping screenings. Podcasts for students are designed to communicate more effectively and directly about issues that affect young people. The refurbished spaces will be part of a digital composition, with different creatures projected on the walls, inspired by children’s drawings, or even Altamiri or Lascaux cave paintings. It will be a space that will enchant all ages, creating opportunities for interactive communication with our hungarian partners, including through a digital portal – a portal that will give us a real-time insight into their lives and involve us in each other’s life.
