The stretch along the Slovak-Hungarian border is rich in constructed cultural heritage sites, thus the SNC Art Kiállításrendező Kft. – together with the municipalities of Regéc village and Kráľovský Chlmec town in Slovakia – tries to realise this cross-border project, so with its border-crossing partners it tries to preserve the joint historical and cultural heritage of the Lorántffy and Rákóczi families in the Zemplén mountains.
At the Zeleméry–Lorántffy–Rákóczi manor in Tokaj there will be quality services (cultural community area, historical accommodation) for the community needs of the town and the region. The interior will include 5 guest-rooms – with the usable antique equipment the building will become very „castle-ish” in the Zemplén region, featuring cultural-historical elements in every room (with information about the construction and cultural-historical significance); and there will also be a new cultural community area for various (municipality, concert, book presentation, wedding) events. The preserving of the character of the historical garden will enhance the vibe of the manor from quality and visuality perspective, too.
Regarding the Regéc castle in Hungary: the main element of the additional interventions aiming at the qualitative and quantitative development of the services and the preserving and rehabilitation of the castle’s condition consists of the local people’s old wish to save the historical and symbolical sacred area, the chapel from collapsing, reconstructing it authentically and creating a wedding site. In the huge market area under the eastern part of the castle there will be a medieval wine cellar, and in the building’s former baking house they plan a functioning baking oven (using original recipes).
The Lorántffy–Rákóczi castle in Kráľovský Chlmec (Slovakia) is the biggest project element. It aims to transform the building into a castle as an iconic monument (complete building reconstruction – change of roof, renovation of machinery, pipes and electricity system, change of doors and windows, restoration research), with representative town-hall functions and cultural community area (saloon interior, concert and wedding halls), exhibitions (town history, Zsuzsanna Lorántffy) and supplementary services (souvenir shop, café, confectionery). One of the gems of the old historical main square would welcome the locals and the tourists by preserving its artistic function as a unique community area.
