The aim of the project ” On the waves of cross border hospitality ” is to strengthen cross-border tourism in the Szigetköz- Žitný ostrov -Pannonhalma region through sustainable accommodation and hospitality development. The project focuses on the expansion and qualitative improvement of key services for visitors, such as accommodations, gastronomy options, and active tourism offerings. Its cross-border nature is ensured by the cooperation of two Slovak and one Hungarian partner.

The lead partner of the project is THERMALPARK DS, a.s., based in Dunajská Streda, which operates one of the region’s most significant tourist attractions, Thermalpark Dunajská Streda. In this project, the complex primarily focuses on expanding and improving its gastronomic services to provide high-quality dining options for visitors to the spa and related accommodations. A large-capacity, modern kitchen will enable the simultaneous high-quality service of multiple guests.

TERMÁL s.r.o., based in Veľký Meder, operates the Thermal Corvinus thermal bath, which currently does not have its own accommodation facilities. As part of the project, a modern camping zone will be developed with associated infrastructure and amenities that meet contemporary standards and cater to the needs of bath visitors.

The Municipality of Vének has owned and operated the Véneki Camp and Camping for years. This project will facilitate developments in the camp and camping area, significantly increasing capacity and improving the quality and quantity of active tourism services offered at the facility.

The geographical locations and planned developments of the three partners contribute to leveraging the shared potential of the region: fostering the sustainable development of spa tourism as well as active tourism (cycling and water-based tourism). The diversity of renewed services under the project enhances the interconnectedness of individual attractions. The planned developments will make the region more attractive, encouraging visitors to stay longer. The investments, building on spa and active tourism, strengthen the region’s tourism brand while ensuring sustainability through well-scaled improvements.
